Tooth Colored Fillings with CEREC 3D®
At Bonin Dental Care we are proud to make available the CEREC 3D®, state-of-the-art, computer-controlled, tooth imaging system. This revolutionary service actually creates a tooth replacement from a single block of white, biocompatible, plaque-resistant ceramic. The process (and its effect on your smile) must be seen to be believed! While it is also used to fill new cavities, the most dramatic results are seen when the CEREC 3D® replaces those old metallic fillings. The restoration is far more natural looking and can be performed in a single session—usually in about an hour. That is because with CEREC 3D® there is no need to make an impression and send it to the lab, the entire procedure is performed right in our Windsor, CA office. A special camera is used to take a picture of the tooth (actually, a pin-sharp optical impression). Then Dr. Bonin uses computer technology to design a virtual restoration from the optical impression, all while you watch your new tooth take shape on a color video monitor at chair side! Then, when all the precise adjustments have been made, the CEREC 3D® begins milling a solid block of ceramic material to create your filling. Finally, Dr. Bonin bonds the new restoration to your tooth using the latest techniques in adhesive dentistry. The result is a strong tooth that will be indistinguishable from a natural one.

Porcelain Veneers
At Bonin Dental Care porcelain veneers are considered one of the most effective ways to get remarkable cosmetic results. Dr. Bonin uses thin pieces of high quality, tooth colored porcelain as a remedy for varied conditions such as teeth that are chipped, crooked, stained, or even to close unsightly gaps between the teeth. The procedure is starts by first removing a thin layer of enamel from the front of each tooth to be treated. This is done for two reasons, first to score the tooth which aids with the bonding process, and second to retain the approximate mass of the tooth once the veneers are attached. Molds of the teeth are taken, and at a later appointment (once the veneers are created at a separate lab) each veneer is bonded to the front of each tooth. Alternatively, if the individual’s case will permit, Dr. Bonin may decide that the use of the revolutionary CEREC 3D® system, featured right here in our Windsor, CA office, would be a more viable option. Using this system no physical molds need to be taken because a special camera is used to take a three dimensional image of the teeth. This image can then be manipulated to make an ideally shaped tooth. Once the adjustments have been made the CEREC 3D® machine begins automatically milling the veneers to the exact dimensions.
